"good point. im staying in some cabins up the trail that way..." she took out a map. "right here its on the park reserve if you go this way you can avoid the few campers. the cabins are right here im in cabin 12 on the end." she smiled. "there arent a lot of people out camping right now aparently it must be an off season" she shrugged "um im calein you know that but i dont know your name...?" she held out her hand to shake.

Sahira watched as Calein pointed out the cabin. She put the most excluded route in memory, thankful that campers seemed to be elsewhere this week. As Calein held out her hand, Sahira eyed it cautiously, then slowly took it. "Kyra," she lied, "my name is Kyra." She felt only a little guilt in lying to the girl, but Sahira wasn't about to risk using her actual name. If Calein was captured, they would probably ask about her, and a fake name would be very handy then. "Thanks, again. Most people wouldn't invite monsters into their homes."

"monsters are determined by actions not looks." said Calein "Im not inviting a monster im inviting a person." she smiled. sheesh... she wondered why she thought that.

Sahira lifted an eyebrow at Calein's words, admitting the truth in them. "I'll toast to that." she muttered, aimlessly flexing a hand. Unfortunately for her, though, she really was a monster. Isn't that what people called killers? "So, your grandparents, they know about your ability?" Sahira asked, finding it strange.

"Yeah changed for the first time in front of them. they helped me learn a lot about it too. me and grandpa used to go camping alot out in the wild. its kind of funny he keeps comparing me to some old Irish legends." she shrugged.

"Oh, that's pretty nice. That you have people who accept you, all of you." She estimated the girl was in her late teens, around the time when Sahira herself had first shifted. However, she had been surrounded by would-be rapists, not loving grandparents. She did wonder where Calein's actual parents were, but there was no way she would be asking such a personal question. Wasn't her business, and she didn't care that much about it. She might've cared, though, before she knew what it was like to be hunted. "Well," said Sahira, flipping back her messy mane of hair, "I wouldn't be surprised if those legends were true. I've heard abilities are genetic, passing from parent to child. Somewhere down the line you did have wolfy ancestors."

With a shrug, Sahira accepted the food. Ripping the wrapper open, she devoured the thing in three bites. "These are pretty good," she said, examining the wrapper. The setting sun glinted of the plastic, shinging into her amber eyes. Squinting, she dropped the wrapper away from her line of sight. Thinking of the odd color of her eyes, she also noticed that Calein's were also an odd shade of green. "You might want to think about getting colored contacts. Your eyes might give you away."

"i tried them for a while sometimes my eyes shift colors without my meaning to and it kinda defeats the purpose when my eyes turn silver so i usually wear sunglasses instead. that or i blame it on a ginetic quirk."

Sahira made a mental note to pick up some sunglasses tonight, thinking it a good idea. "Genetic quirk? That's the truth, kid, so you'd better stop spreading it around. Those two words together are a red flare for the government agents. You're lucky no ones come looking for you yet." A dimness had settled in the canyon, the sun nearly down. "You should probably get back now, before its completely dark. Don't want to step on rattlsnakes or anything."

Sahira remained seated, watching Calein get ready to depart. Every now and then she eyed the cat, wondering if there was something special about it. "So, if I don't show up by midnight, that means I'm not coming. So, after midnight, if I don't show up, just forget about me. Got it?"

"ok." Calein replied she smiled. socks meowed "Socks says stop giving him weird looks." calein said before walking off. "see you later" she looked back over her shoulder curiously at 'kyra' then continued back to her cabin her thought briefly turned to whatever had been worrying her while they were sitting... she had kept looking out for something.

When the girl was out of sight, Sahira sighed and laid down on the ground, exhausted. Craning her neck, she inspected the large graze on her arm, which she had been careful not to let Calein see. While she had been fighting the agents, one had been lucky enough to injure her with a bullet. Fortunately the bullet hadn't struck her full on, otherwise she would have bled to death hours ago.
When night was almost fully upon her, Sahira stood and loped towards the wall of the canyon. While she had spoken to Calein, she had spotted a route up out of the canyon. Taking this route now, she labored up the thin, winding slope. By the time she reached the top, darkness had settled. Now, to find some clothes.

Roughly half an hour later, Sahira reached the small city that was near the canyons. Finding a shop closed for the night, Sahira made sure there was no one around before bashing in the door window. Reaching through the broken glass, she craned her hand around until she could switch the lock. "Sorry," she muttered as she let herself in. Not taking the time to look, Sahira grabbed the first few things that seemed like they would fit. There was also a pair of sunglasses she made sure to snatch. Switching these clothes with her current rags, she rushed away from the shop and into the shadows. Now, to find that cabin.

The night was blessedly dark as Sahira made her way swiftly, but wearily, to the cabin. After much debate, the thought of a secure place to spend the night was too good to pass up. Now, she could see the cabin's lights, approaching it from behind. One window stood open. Sinking into a crouch, Sahira prowled closer, eyes looking everywhere in case someone should pop up. Reaching the window, Sahira peeked in once and spotted Calein laying down. There was a sound behind her, and she sank lower and twirled around, heart thumping madly, the beast ready to gain dominance.
It was Socks. Damn cat! she cursed, closing her eyes in relief. Sighing, Sahira stood back up and let herself in through the window. "You asleep?" she asked quietly as she crawled in.

Calein heard someone coming towards the window she smiled when she heard the person move suddenly and sigh after the person crawled in she looked up at the question. "nahhh" she said quietly. socks jumped in. Jumpy isn't she? said socks as he sat on the windowsill looking at sahira "if your hungry theres some leftover irish stew?"

At the mention of stew, Sahira's stomach rumbled eagerly. "I don't care what kind of stew it is," she said with a weary expression, "I'll eat whatever you got." Noticing the cat watching her, Sahira eyed it curiously. "What's your cats problem, anyways." she added, pointing a thumb at it. "The thing nearly scared me to death, and now it's staring at me." I'm not like you, she found herself thinking. I'm human.
