Character's Name: Alfred Bester. The people closest to him call him Al, and everyone else calls him by his last name.
Character's Age: 34
Character's Attitude: Bester is a power-hunter. He searches for ways to manipulate anyone and gathers as much information on them that he can. On the outside he can be charming, but it's a mockery of his true feelings, and his enemies can get very quickly annoyed by it. Inside, he has very little true feeling any more. He is completely against normal humans and thinks that people with powers deserve the earth through right of evolution.
Character's Powers (If any, and no more than 2): A very very strong telepath
Character's Weakness (Must state at least 4; 2 concerning your powers!): His left hand is paralyzed into a gloved fist, though he never says what happened. His power allows him to learn things about people he would rather not know; used to he didn't like seeing the bad side of people. Now he hates seeing the good in them. He can never completely block his telepathy, though he can push it into the back of his mind as backround noise. He is completely heartless, which he considers his strength, but is really his greatest weakness.
Character's Appearance (Clothes, hair, face, etc. If you can provide a picture, that would be awesome!):
Character's Allegiance (Hero, Villain, or Neutral): Villan
Weapons (If any): He has a small sidearm, but prefers to use his power.
Other Info (Is there anything we need to know about this person?): Was formerly a Pinehearst employee.
History (At least 15 sentences and as detailed as you can get. The better we know them, the better we can write with you):
Alfred Bester was born in a normal family in Chicago, Illinois. He grew up as a small kid and was always looked down upon by the others. He graduated and started to go to Alabama University studying law. His freshmen year, however, his power manifested. He quickly became intoxicated with the power it gave him, and he used that power to manipulate others.
He was discovered by Arthur Petrelli early the next year and became a member of Pinehearst. Bester was involved in many projects that Petrelli started, including synthetic powers. He didn't necessarily agree with the idea of giving powers to those who hadn't gotten them naturally, but it wasn't his place to argue.
He was also involved in another practice that he became addicted to. He always volunteered to scan people who were on their deathbeds. He stayed in their minds the instant they died. Every time it happened, he just died a little more inside. But he was determined to see what, if anything, was on the other side of death. The last deathbed scan he chose to do, he went just a little too far and what he saw nearly drove him mad. He never would say what it was. Also with that scan, when he returned to his own mind, there seemed to be a large piece of him missing. It seemed any conscience he had was gone forever.
He is now living in California, hunted by Danko's men, but not afraid. His telepathy is very useful at convincing others he is not there, and he sometimes kills people with it when he needs to.
Role Play Sample (At least 15 sentences):
Bester glared at the man tied down in front of him. He had decided to capture this hunter, instead of kill him. He was ready to find the source of this problem and destroy it.
"Where is he?" He asked, his voice almost friendly, but menacing at the same time. "Where is the man who hired you?" The hunter didn't meet Bester's eyes, only stared straight ahead and muttered a little nursery rhyme over and over, trying not to think about Danko. Bester only stood back a little ways. He slowly reached out his hand toward the man's head, as if to grab hold of something. Suddenly, the hunter's eyes took on a look of panic and, after a choking breath, he died.
But Bester didn't care. He looked at his hand as if he held the answer he was looking for there. He got what he was searching for, the thought betrayed by the man's dying thoughts. A small smile came to his lips. Turning, Bester left the dead man there and walked pleasantly home, making plans for Danko.
