I once again become an overly-bored person considering taking over a dead site for my own amusement.

Character's Name: Mercy Swain
Character's Age: 18
Character's Attitude: Mercy is a sweet girl whose name describes her perfectly. It doesn't take much for her to forgive and forget, she always has a sunny attitude. At times she is nervous and unsure of herself. She will take of others, even if she doesn't know them.
Character's Powers: Force field and flight
Character's Weakness: She can only maintain her powers for so long, and there is a limit to the size of a force field she can create, even with training to increase her endurance. She's scared of heights, which makes flying rather impractical. She trusts people too easily and is too easily manipulated. She wants something more out of life than what she has.
Character's Appearance:
Some of her hair is prematurely gray. There is a scar on her right hand, she doesn't know what from.
Character's Allegiance: Hmm...good question...I suppose eventually Hero. Right now she's more neutral.
Weapons: Self-defense training. She's also taken recreational shooting, so she knows how to load and fire a gun.
Other Info: She fervently denies she has special abilities, and uses them only when absolutely necessary--usually to save the life of a friend or something similar. If anyone wants to be her college roommate, they can.
History: Mercy was born in Anchorage, Alaska, and was raise there her whole life. She was homeschooled for the most part, as her parents were not pleased with the public schooling system. She started her first semester of college there, but transferred her second semester to a campus in Texas, where she is making excellent grades, but few friends.
When she was fifteen, she discovered her ability. Her boyfriend at the time was starting to abuse her. Once when he threw a punch, it met something rock-solid and he actually broke his fist on it. Terrified, Mercy began to run away. The guy gave chase, so she jumped and next thing she knew, she was hovering thirty feet above the ground and screaming. Someone who heard the screams dialed 911, but by the time the police arrived, she was on the ground, passed out. She never explained what happened, but lied, saying she didn't remember. Since then, she has been trying to forget that she has powers and attempting a normal life.
Role Play Sample:
Mercy groaned quietly and slammed the snooze button of her alarm clock. She hated having classes at 8am every day. She would have given almost anything to be able to lie there for the next few hours.
But as she tried to doze back to sleep, her mind returned to the nightmare she had continually had for the last three years, of being beaten, her attacker breaking his hand on an invisible wall, of her hanging helplessly in the air. It could never leave her mind.
She glanced over across the room at where her roommate slept soundly. She hoped she didn't cry while she slept anymore, or if she did that her roommate would never wake up while she did so.
The alarm began blaring again. Mercy reached over and shut it off, then sat up reluctantly. It was time to begin her day.
